Noam Shuster-Eliassi in profile, eyes closed, hair in motion

Noam Shuster-Eliassi is an Israeli Jewish comedian and activist who writes and performs in Arabic, Hebrew, English, and a touch of Persian. She was raised in Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam ("Oasis of Peace"), the only community where Palestinians and Jews live together by choice, an upbringing that forms the basis of much of her comedy. She spent years working in peacebuilding and conflict resolution efforts, including with the United Nations, before transitioning to comedy.

Her satirical videos have circulated widely across the Arab world. In 2018, she became the first Jewish performer to appear at the Palestine Comedy Festival.

Her one-woman show, "Coexistence, My Ass!," was developed at Harvard University, toured internationally, and received a four-star review at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. A feature documentary of the same name, directed by Amber Fares, follows Shuster-Eliassi over five years as she develops the show against the backdrop of the tensions at home. The film premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Special Jury Prize for Freedom of Expression, and was shortlisted for Best Documentary Feature at the 2026 Academy Awards.
